Teeth Whitening

Just give us 1 hour to get your teeth shades brighter than before

There is no doubt over-the-counter whitening strips are super popular. The desire for cleaner and whiter teeth has grown so much, it’s ballooned into a $3 billion dollar industry this year alone. Especially in the age of TV and social media, pearly whites tend to be the norm. Walk down the grocery aisle and there’ll be rows of bleaching products ranging from gels to strips and even paint-on. The only problem? Products can leak onto the gums, causing inflammation and teeth sensitivity. If you have these issues already, check out our other services.

So if you want a white smile that’s safe and really lasts - leave it to the professionals.

Professional teeth whitening is a procedure of whitening the teeth to a custom level - set by the patient and dentist. It’s faster and carries much stronger solutions than over-the-counter teeth whiteners. No-fuss and no mess.

Patients can expect appointments to last anywhere from 60-90 minutes.

Still wondering which option is right for you?

Here are the differences between at-home and professional teeth whitening:

Professional

  • Fast - get shades whiter within an hour

  • Can last up to 1 year

  • Custom-fit to your shade

  • Controls gum and tooth sensitivity

At Home

  • Convenient - do it on your own time

  • One-size-fits-all treatment

  • Variety of whitening methods available

  • Cheaper and cost-efficient

What type of whitening does your dental office use?

We use what’s called a Zoom Teeth Whitening procedure.

It’s a type of treatment that uses 25% hydrogen peroxide whitening gel, that’s activated by blue plasma light (also known as a Zoom light). This simple, non-invasive procedure is only done in-office and usually takes between 45 minutes to an hour.

Dr. Daniel bleaches each tooth to produce a prettier and brighter smile by the end of the treatment.

What can patients expect during the procedure?

There are several standard steps to perform an in-office whitening. After we clean the teeth, we’ll record the current shade. Next, we will:

  1. Place gauze and retractors inside the mouth to keep teeth, cheeks, tongue, and lips away from the whitening solution.

  2. Then a white gel barrier will be placed on the gum line - this step is absolutely crucial to protect gums from exposure.

  3. After the gel hardens, the teeth are painted with the Zoom whitening peroxide solution.

  4. A curing light is placed on top of the teeth to activate the solution for about 15-30 minutes.

  5. Once we reach the optimum shade, we’ll remove the gel and rinse the teeth completely.

What’s the best way to take care of teeth after whitening?

For at least two days, completely avoid tobacco products and certain foods or drinks known to stain teeth, including tea, coffee, spaghetti, pizza - all the good stuff.

Last but not least, regular old brushing and flossing will be your best protection to prevent stains from forming.
